Beauty Is Truth: Painting by Helga Powell, scuptural vessels by Carolyn Watson
At Leg of Mutton's next exhibition, immerse yourself in the wonders of
nature, reinterpreted by two Herefordshire artists. Using watercolour,
gouache and pastel, the award-winning Helga Powell pays homage to
humble hedgerow plants and garden roses in her detailed paintings.
Carolyn Watson uses wool and other natural, often reclaimed fibres to
create intricate, intimate vessels – some of which fit in the palm of
the hand, yet offer a sense of refuge and containment.
