Francis Kilvert, famous for his diary detailing his life as a country curate spent seven years at Clyro, just over the border in Wales. He later became incumbent at Bredwardine, Herefordshire in 1877 and died and was buried there. Further details.
Approximately 15 miles out of Kington on the A44, visit The Pales, a Quaker Meeting House set in marvellous country overlooking the Llandegley Rocks and another lovely area for walking.
