Kington Art and Craft Market
18th June 2016 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
An eye-catching array of beautiful handmades will be on show all day from 10am to 4pm in border town Kington’s historic Market Hall and adjacent Place de Marines - the stunning glass-roofed outdoor space filled with the luxuriant planters and hanging baskets of Kington in Bloom.
The high quality art and craft desirables, all by local artists and designer-makers, include textiles, paintings, botanical lightshades, the Magic Gardener's traveling Domestic Apothecary (custom herbal bathing goodness), ceramics, jewellery, art cards, woodcraft, and more.
Children can get creative with a free, hands-on clay activity, and the KLEEN Repair Cafe will make its debut in the Market Hall - bring along any hand-carried article that needs to be repaired and let the fixperts help you out.
A great day out in Kington is assured, and will be nicely rounded off by the 40th famous annual Wheelbarrow Race at 6pm when a vast army of runners and passengers, in all manner of novel outfits and vehicles, will do the rounds of the town hostelries at astonishing speed with the traditional compulsory quaffing pitstops! This event always draws huge crowds to watch and to carry on celebrating with street food and zesty music till late.
There are still some stalls available at the market – pitches only cost £7 for a 2 m space/£10 for 4 m. Info or to book a stall contact: Nancy Frost 07867 4783135
